Wicked, the high soaring and multi-awarded Broadway musical, has a three-week engagement at New Orleans’ Saenger Theatre on October 2 to 20, 2019.
Based on the 1995 book by Gregory Maguire, Wicked is a re-imagined take of the timeless The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and tells the story from the perspective of Elphaba, the passionate, smart, yet misunderstood young woman who became the infamous Wicked Witch of the West. This provocative story explores the nature of evil and good and will let its New Orleans audience re-examine how they appreciate Baum’s Wizard of Oz after knowing the real persona behind the cloak and green skin of the Wicked Witch of the West.
The wickedly entertaining performances of Wicked at the Saenger Theatre are at 8 PM on Tuesdays to Saturdays and at 7:30 PM on Sundays. The matinee shows are at 2 pm every Saturday and Sunday.
